Fire at Lake Grace Pavilion
Jonathan in Chaska, MN – 1/8/2019 – The Chaska Fire Department responded this morning at 4:04 AM to a fire at the Lake Grace Pavilion where the building was found to be engulfed in flames. Firefighters from the City of Victoria also responded.
The fire was successfully extinguished, and firefighters were on the scene until approximately 8:30 AM. Due to the damage to the structure, the pavilion is expected to be a total loss.
According to Chaska Fire Department Chief Tim Wiebe, it is believed that the fire may have started at approximately midnight. “The cause of this fire is believed to be suspicious”, said Tim Wiebe. The cause is under further investigation, and the Minnesota State Fire Marshal has been contacted. The Chaska Fire Department is asking for the community’s help. If anyone has any information on the fire or witnessed anything in the early morning hours of January 8th, 2019, please contact the Chaska Fire Department at 952-448-2990.
“Thank you to the men and women first responders for their efforts in extinguishing this fire”, said Justin Scharpen, President of The Jonathan Association. “We would also like to thank the Chaska Public Works Department for their work in applying salt and sand to ensure site access and safety for our first responders. The property at Lake Grace is a beautiful space for residents and their families. Rebuilding will be among the Association’s highest priorities during 2019.”
